Shimla: Police are working vigorously to nab criminals smuggling narcotics in the capital. In the latest case, Baluganj police arrested two passengers traveling in an HRTC bus with a consignment of drugs. Action is being taken against the accused by registering a case under the NDPS Act. On Tuesday morning, police had put a block on the Kalka-Shimla highway in suburban Shodhi. HTC’s bus going from Chandigarh to Rekong Peo (HP 25A-3325) was intercepted and searched. Police seized a large amount of drugs from passengers sitting in two different seats of the bus. DSP headquarter Pramod Shukla said that 151 nets of nitrozapam and 286 tramadol hydrochloride tablets were found in possession of Praveen Kumar (24), resident of Tibet Colony Nabha House. Besides, 28 bottles of banned cough syrup codeine were also recovered. At the same time, 109 tablets of tramadol hydrochloride and 16 bottles of codeine were recovered from Nishant Guli Baroti resident Nishant Kumar (26). He said that action is being taken to register a case against both the accused.
