Himachal players dominate 10th National Vovinam competition, shocks seven bronze medals

Mandi: Himachal Pradesh Vovinam Martial Arts team has won the bronze by winning seven bronze medals in the 10th National Vovinam Competition. Six hundred Vovinam martial arts players from 25 states participated in this competition held from 27 to 30 January at Yugapurush Vivekananda Sports Complex Vadtal Anand Gujarat. State Vovinam Association general secretary Jogindra Singh Azad said that in the Himachal Pradesh Vovinam team, Aarav, Harsh Malik, Anshj Thakur in the sub junior category and Rashi Awasthi in the women’s section and Vishal Thakur in the male section participated in the senior category. Aarav of Sirmour won the 28 kg weight class in the sub junior category and Harsh Malik won the bronze medal in the full contact fight event in the 40 kg weight category. Anshij Thakur of Mandi won the bronze medal in the Thap Thu Kuwain singles performance event. Rashi Awasthi from Kangra won the bronze medal in the 48 kg weight class fight event and self defense event Tu Ve Nou and Vishal Thakur won the bronze medal in the Thap Thu Kuwen singles performance event and self defense performance event. In this competition, Mohammad Javed as team manager and Parshotam Singh as team coach and Jogindra Singh Azad represented the state Vovinam martial arts team.
