Hamirpur: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had narrow vision for the development of the state and need to widen his approach. This was stated by kuldeep Rathor President of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee while addressing gathering at protest rally organised by state congress committee at Gandhi Chowk here today. Significantly, congress party was holding country wide protest rallies against the price rise and slowdown in economy. Addressing a procession that started from Bhota Chowk and passed through the main market and ended at Gandhi Chowk in which congress leaders raised slogans against BJP led state and centre governments. HPCC president alleged that the prices of essential commodities had gone beyond the capacity of general public. He said many industrial units had closed down and thousands of the local youth had lost their jobs in the state. Rathore alleged that while the prices of essential commodities were increasing, farmers were getting lesser price for their produce.
Mukesh Agnihotri leader of opposition said that government had failed to implement various infrastructure projects announced before the parliamentary poll. He said that the government had increased the prices of fuel and LPG. He said that CM had contained the development projects to his home constituency Saraj. He said that CM should had bigger heart and look for the problems being faced in other corners of the state. He alleged that even other constituencies of district Mandi were ignored by the CM.
Mukesh Agnihotri said said that congress welcomed investment in the state but would not tolerate misuse of state exchequer. He said that the state was reeling under debt of over Rs. 60 thousand crores and state spent over Rs. Ten Crore on tents for the investor meet at Dharamsala. He said that it was surprising that a woman was paid Rs. Ten Lac to put cap on Prime Minister Narender Modi.
MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal and Rajender Rana also addressed the gathering. former MLA Anita Verma, Kuldeep Pathania, Kewal Singh Pathania, BC Lagwal, Anil Verma and BM Soni were also present on the occasion.
Former HPCC President and MLA from Nadaun Constituency Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was absent from the scene today.
