NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha on Tuesday witnessed uproar over Unnao rape survivor’s accident in Uttar Pradesh.
As soon as the House met for the day, Leader of Congress party in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury demanded Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement in the House.
Mr Chowdhury said,“People of India are feeling ashamed today due to Unnao incident, it’s a blot on civilized society, where a minor girl was gangraped. A truck hit victim’s car and killed a witness. Victim and her lawyer are in critical condition.”
He said that proper security has not been given to the victim and her family. He demanded the strictest punishment for the culprits.
BJP member Jagdambika Pal said the truck seized from the accident site belongs to a Samajwadi party leader.
Parliamentary Affairs minister Mr Prahlad Joshi said that the Unnao rape survivor’s accident issue “should not be politicised”. He added, “CBI inquiry is already underway, FIR has been registered. Government is investigating with impartiality.”
Not satisfied with the reply, Congress, TMC and DMK trooped into the well of the House. Later, Congress also walked out of the House.
