Jammu& Kashmir: BSF personnel commit suicide in Kupwara

J&k: In occupied Kashmir, an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Nowgam sector of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.

A 42-year-old BSF trooper namely SM Ravinder Kumar of 77 Bn shot himself in his head inside his room at the BSF camp in Nowgam late on Monday evening, reports said.

Soon after the incident, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead, a police officer said.

This incident raised the number of such deaths amongst the Indian army and police personnel to 437 in occupied Kashmir since January 2007 till date.
