An important initiative to provide relief to Hajj pilgrims, the Haj Committee of India has started from this year E-Booking facility, for confirmation and reporting – online facility to confirm and report the Hajj pilgrimage.
Once a pilgrim has confirmed and reported online, s/he does not need to come for confirmation and reporting at the Haj Embarkation Point two days in advance.
However, if a pilgrim fails to confirm online using the e-booking facility s/he has to confirm and report at the respective embarkation point 02 day before departure.
E-Booking Confirmation, Reporting Steps:
- Click here to go to the official website: hajcommittee.gov.in.
- Click on “Online Flight Booking Confirmation for Haj – 2019”.
- Enter Cover Number starting with the first letter of your state and click on Submit.
- Click on the appropraite link to download Flight Confirmation Receipt.
- Take a printout.
“E-Booking for confirmation and reporting of Haj flight can be done online by cover head only”, the Haj Committee of India said.
“After confirming booking online, a pilgrim needs not have to report physically 02 days before departure”, it added.
“Instead of 02 days, the pilgrims who have confirmed online will need to report with original payment receipts 24 hrs before departure to collect passport and other travel documents”, it said.
“The reporting time at the Airport shall be six (6) hours prior to the departure of flight”, the Haj Committee of India said.
“If a pilgrim misses the flight after booking he/she shall have to deposit Rs.25,000/- per pilgrim to be accommodated in the next flight, subject to availability of seats”, the Haj Committee of India said.
The Haj Committee of India has released this year district-wise Hajj flight schedule (Tentative). Individual flight schedule has so far been released only for Delhi, Gaya, Goa and Guwahati embarkation points. Hence, only e-booking for confirmation and reporting has also been started only for pilgrims who will embark on Haj from these four embarkation points.
Pilgrims from other Haj Embarkation Points should confirm online using e-booking facility for confirmation and reporting once they receive SMS regarding their flight allotment schedule.
Coinciding with Eid al Adha, Haj is the annual ritual to commemorate the sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hager and their son Prophet Ismael. The likely date of Wuqoof e Arafat – the key ritual of the Hajj, is August 09 or 10, 2019. As the Islamic calendar is based on sighting of moon, the final date will be decided once the new moon of the month of Dhul Hijjah is sighted.
