Chamba would Emerge as Heritage town: Anurag Thakur

Anurag Thakur Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting said that Chamba town would be developed as Heritage Town to attract tourists from world over to improve economy of people of Chamba. He said a heritage track could be started by identifying heritage buildings in Chamba so that more and more tourists visit this beautiful town that was historical importance. He assured to take the art, craft and culture of Chamba to world map and attract more tourists here.

 He was addressing at function of  National Urban Livelihood Mission & Youth Incentive at Chowgan here today. He said that the Prime Minister had declared it as District of Aspiration and in the coming years it would be far ahead amongst the developed districts in the country.

Anurag Thakur who is also Sports and Youth Affairs Minister,  announced to construct five indoor stadiums in each Vidhan Sabha constituencies in the district and 10 multi-gymnasiums in each constituency.

The Miister also visited stalls setup by self help groups (SHGs) at the venue and suggested district administration to develop special counters at hotels where these groups could keep their products for sale to tourists.

Earlier, Anurag Thakur honoured SHGs, Association making Organic Farm Products, artists and others involved with the theme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ launched by him.
