The fair of the month of Chaitra started with the flag raising ceremony on Sunday at Baba Balak Nath Temple Diotasiddh. It will be celebrated for one month till April 13. On the first day, 25 thousand devotees visited the holy cave in the temple. Devotees from Punjab and Haryana along with Himachal also arrived to pay obeisance. Police personnel had to struggle a lot to maintain the physical distancing as increase in devotees had resulted in overcrowding in the festival.
District Collector and Commissioner of Baba Balak Nath Temple Trust, Devasweta Banik, duly inaugurated the fair with puja, havan and flag ceremony.
