The number of confirmed corona virus cases worldwide surged to 20 million on Tuesday. The report of WHO revealed that more than half of them from the US, India and Brazil.
Health believed that actual number was much higher than that tally kept by Johns Hopkins University. The University authorities said that as many as 40% of those who were infected had no symptoms.
Significantly, it took six months to reach 10 million cases after the virus first appeared in China in December last year. While it took just over 45 days for that number to double.
In India the number of new daily cases has continued to rise with a seven-day average of 58,768. In USA that had more than 5 million cases, the average had decreased since July 22.
The number of reported virus deaths had climbed to 736,191 from 499,506, reported by Johns Hopkins University.
