Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today visited native village Karohta of martyr Ankush Thakur in Bhoranj area of Hamirpur district to pay tributes to the martyr who made supreme sacrifice during the violent face off between India and China in Galwan valley of Ladakh on the June 16.

Chief Minister met Anil Kumar the father of the martyr Ankush Thakur, Usha Devi mother and Sita Ram grand Father of Ankush and expressed his heartfelt gratitude with them and other members of bereaved family.
Jai Ram Thakur announced pay Rs. 20 lakh ex gratia grant to the family on and said that State Government is with them in this hour of distress. He also announced that gate would be erected at Karohta in honour of the martyr. He said that Primary Health Centre Karohta would also be strengthened to provide better health care facilities to the people of the area. He said that road leading to village would be improved.
While interacting with the media, Chief Minister said that the sacrifice of martyr Ankush would not go in vain and the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give befitting reply to the nefarious designs of the enemy.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar, Forests Minister Govind Thakur, Member of Parliament Ramswaroop Sharma, MLAs Kamlesh Kumari, Col. Inder Singh, Narinder Thakur, Rakesh Jamwal and Rajinder Garg, Organization Secretary Pawan Rana, Vice Chairman HRTC Vijay Agnihotri, Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena were also present among others.
