Lock Down Extended till May 03 in India, Himachal to Review on April 20

Shimla, April 14, (QNB)

The spread of Corona Virus and increase in the number of active Covid-19 patients, the government was compelled to continue the lock down till May 03. Prime Minister Narender Modi announced this today while addressing the nation. He said that it was need of the hour to contain the spread of deadly virus. He said that people should strictly follow social distancing. He said that some relaxations could be given in the less affected area and state governments could do this at their level.

Jai Ram Thakur Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh had hailed the decision of the Prime Minister. He said that the decision would help in saving the lives of millions of people in the country. He said that it was big relief that Himachal had been successful in containing the virus. He said that most of the cases that were positive had turned negative.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the lockdown would continue in the state till May 03. He said that still government would review the situation on April 20. He said that no public movement would be allowed in hotspots and local administration would ensure home delivery of essential items there. He said that anyone found violating the lockdown rules would be dealt strictly.

No respite to Himachalis staying out of state

SR Maradi Director General of Police said that people staying out of state would not be allowed to enter the state till further orders. He advised people, who were willing to come to Himachal, to stay there where they are. He said that anyone trying to breach in could face action under section of lock down. He said that it would be mandatory for one and all to wear masks in the state while venturing out of houses. This would be applicable to all employees coming to offices including government and private.
