The School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Biotechnology, Shoolini University, marked the World Food Day with a series of vibrant, educational, and interactive events aimed at promoting awareness about food security, nutrition, and global hunger.
The day commenced with an engaging quiz competition, where Team A, comprising students from B.Sc. and M.Sc. Food Technology and Nutrition and Dietetics, clinched the top spot.
The poster-making competition allowed students to express their creativity on themes such as hunger, food waste, and nutrition. The visually striking posters reflected the students' passion for the cause. Amisha, from B.Sc. Food Technology (Second Year), won first prize for her outstanding poster, while Osheen, a third-year student of B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics, secured the first runner-up position for her impressive artwork.
Adding a lively twist to the day was the Food Charades activity, where Muskan and Manogna from M.Sc. Food Technology (First Year) entertained the audience. Their performance had everyone cheering as participants tried to guess various food items and cooking processes, bringing lightheartedness to the event.
The final competition, Blindfold Ingredient Identification, brought out the competitive spirit among participants. Contestants relied on their senses of taste, touch, and smell to identify ingredients while blindfolded. Shivanshu, a second-year student from B.Tech Food Technology, emerged as the winner with his remarkable sensory abilities.
The day concluded with the distribution of prizes by Professor Dr. Dinesh Kumar Head of the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology and Dr. Pankaj Chauhan recognising the talents and efforts of all the participants.
The event was coordinated by faculty members from the School of Bioengineering and Food Technology, including Dr. Mamta, Ms. Srishti, Dr. Vinay, and Dr. Rajni, who ensured the smooth execution of every activity.
