Chandrashekhar Azad will challenge Yogi Adityanath, will contest from Gorakhpur

Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) president Chandrashekhar Azad will challenge Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur Sadar seat in the upcoming assembly elections of  Uttar  Pradesh. According to the statement issued by Azad Samaj Party on Thursday, Chandrashekhar Azad will be the candidate from Gorakhpur Sadar seat.
It is worth noting that Azad's party has decided to contest the elections alone after the efforts of an alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP) failed. Polling will be held on March 3 in the fifth phase of Gorakhpur Sadar seat. A part  from the BJP, no other major party has declared candidates for this seat. BJP has made Chief Minister Yogi its candidate from this seat.
