Chief Minister Also called on Finance Minister Nirmla Sitharaman and Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on President of India Ram Nath Kovind at New Delhi today and invited him to address the special session of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha being held to mark Golden Jubilee celebration of the state. He appraised president that government was holding Swarnim Himachal celebrations across the state by organizing events as state turned 50 this year on 25 January. He said that year long celebrations would be held to mark the golden jubilee.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi. He requested the Union Finance Minister for reviving 100 million dollar ADB project (Phase-I) that was aimed to build world class infrastructure in the state to boost tourism activities. He said the first phase of project had 20 sub projects and added that state government intends to develop infrastructure at both portals of Atal Tunnel and develop it as a major tourist destination.

She assured that the request of state for reviving the ADB project would be considered and suggested to send the proposal. She appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister for successful implementation of first dose of Covid vaccination.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur met Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia too. Chief Minister requested the Union Minister for completion of approvals in a speedy manner for construction of Greenfield airport in Mandi district. He also requested for approvals for expansion of airports in Shimla, Bhuntar and Kangra. He also thanked the Union Minister and Centre Government for substantial reduction in air tariff under UDAAN Scheme which was a great initiative in public interest. The scheme was successful in making the flights more affordable and economical.
The Union Minister assured of all possible assistance to state.
