Bus facility to Restore in Himachal, HRTC waiting for approval

To curb the inconvenience to the public Himachal Pradesh government had initiated procedure to start transportation in the state. The authorities of Himachal Road Transport Corporation were advised to stay on alert mode as government could announce to press the transport service into action. Significantly, the government of the country had issued orders of lockdown to contain the spread of corona pandemic in the country. Over 6600 of HRTC and private operators were stand still since lockdown was enforced.

It was learnt that Transport Minister Govind Thakur had directed the HRTC management to keep in contact with the drivers and operators so that the movement of buses could be started when required. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur himself was watching all developments in this regard. It was apprehended that the bus services may resume in areas, where corona infection had reduced considerably. Authorities in Transport Corporation believe that services cannot be restored in one turn but in phased manner. The government had assured the supply of Masks and sanitizers to the RTO’s in respective districts before restoring the transportation.
