Opposition boycotts joint session on constitution day, holds protest

Delhi:  Several other opposition parties, including the Congress, boycotted a joint sitting of both houses of parliament convened by the government on the occasion of Constitution Day on Tuesday and demonstrated in front of the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in the Parliament complex. Former PM Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, former President Rahul Gandhi, leaders of Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and many other opposition parties participated in this protest on Maharashtra issue. These leaders had carried the banner in their hands, on which the ‘Constitution crisis in crisis’ was written. During this time he raised slogans of ‘Stop killing the Constitution’.
